Clare (nee Dickover) Hallock, 86, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013. She was the wife of Macy Monroe Hallock, Sr.; daughter-in-law of the late Macy O. and Clara (Ulmer) Hallock of Medina. She was born July 17, 1927, to the late Benjamin and Mathilde (Koster) Dickover.
She was a graduate of Pleasantville High School, in New York. She attended Lasell Junior College in Newton, Massachusetts and graduated from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York, where she affiliated with Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Clare moved “West” to Medina after her marriage to Macy and raised her family. She later returned to college and earned her teaching certificate, working in the Medina County Schools for 10 years. She enjoyed being a charter member of the Guiding Star Circle of the International Order of King’s Daughters and Sons, playing cards and dance club.
Clare is survived by her husband, Macy, to whom she was married 64 years; children, Macy M. (Rebecca) Hallock, Jr., of Medina, Debra L. Hallock of Columbus, and Alan B. (Sheryl) Hallock of Medina; grandchildren, Macy Matthew (Jennifer), Michael (Meredith), Grant, Morgan, Lauren and Lindsey; and great-grandchildren, Macy Robert and Delanie.
She was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Koster (Kim) Hallock; brother, Alan F. Dickover; and grandson, Benjamin J. Hallock.
Service will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013, 11 A.M., at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Family will receive friends Friday, December 20, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M., at the funeral home.
