MEDINA — The Medina County Domestic Relations Court was again awarded a $295,000 federal grant that’s been helping victims of domestic violence since 2011.
“This award will allow us to continue the progress we have made in the last two years to better serve domestic violence survivors in Medina County,” Domestic Relations Judge Mary Kovack said. “A dedicated docket has vastly improved our ability to protect victims and their children while holding abusers accountable.”
The grant will last through September 2016 and was awarded in October.
The funds allow the court to keep a full-time victim advocate, provided by the Battered Women’s Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties, as well as a specialized domestic violence magistrate.
