Frederick Joseph Marshall

Frederick Joseph Marshall, 86, died peacefully Friday, December 20, 2013. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Frederick George and Elizabeth Marshall.

Mr. Marshall was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a 1952 graduate of Tri State University in Angola, Indiana. Frederick was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the American Legion Post 32 in Plymouth, Michigan. He was a retired chemical salesman, and retired to Murrells Inlet, South Carolina from Plymouth, Michigan.

Frederick was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Marjorie Helen Heron Marshall; and a sister, Leona Borgula.

He is survived by three sons, Michael Marshall of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Robert (Becky) Marshall of Medina, John (Laurie) Marshall of Charlotte, North Carolina; three daughters, Ann (Mark) Schweitzer of Washington, DC, Janet (Michael) Cogburn of Fairfax, Virginia, Lynn (Mark) Tinsey of Nashville, Tennessee; and 10 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M., Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church/Education Fund, 572 Cypress Avenue, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
