Townships, cities issue parking bans because of snow

Heavy snowfall has resulted in cities and townships banning parking on roads across the county.

Medina County Sheriff Tom Miller has issued a Level 1 snow emergency today.

According to the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness, a Level 1 snow emergency means “roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be icy. Motorists are urged to drive very cautiously.”

Many townships and cities have followed Miller’s lead by issuing snow emergencies and a parking ban on city streets is in effect in Wadsworth and Brunswick. According to Ohio law, failing to abide by parking bans could result in impounding vehicles.
