MEDINA — Charges of rape against two men have been dropped after a Brunswick woman recanted her accusation.
Joseph W. Thomas, 28, of Cleveland, and Christopher T. Willard, 25, of Strongsville, were accused of sexually assaulting the woman on April 13. They had been free on bond from the Medina County Jail when the charges were dismissed on Dec. 31.
In a Dec. 27 motion to dismiss, county Assistant Prosecutor Michael McNamara said the woman withdrew her accusations shortly before Christmas.
“In the interests of justice, this case should be dismissed,” McNamara wrote.
