OBIT FLAGKirstein_WilliamWilliam C. Kirstein, 93, of Medina, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014. He was born January 16, 1920 in Cleveland, to the late William K. and Mildred (Dress) Kirstein.

William served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a bricklayer for Emerson Co. for 23 years and retired from the Cleveland Metroparks as a maintenance supervisor.

He was a lifetime member of Wadsworth VFW Post 1089, Richfield Masonic Lodge 69 and enjoyed golfing, swimming, and bowling.

William is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Lavinia (Ellis); daughters, Lynn (Dale) Van Deusen of Medina, Lori Blueter of Hinckley; grandsons, Bryan Van Deusen, Jay (Katey), Travis (Amy) and Jeb (Robyn) Blueter; and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur; and great granddaughter, Brittany.

Family will receive friends Thursday, January 16, 2014, one 1/2 hour prior to service at 11 A.M. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 1605 Center Road, Hinckley, OH 44233. Pastor Scott Silcox will officiate. Burial with honors will be held at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
