MEDINA TWP. — What do snowflakes and friends have in common?

No two are exactly alike and they were both the theme for the 15th annual Commissioners’ Charity Ball on Saturday at Weymouth Country Club.

County Commissioners Pat Geissman, Steve Hambley and Adam Friedrick played host to more than 100 guests at the black tie-optional affair. Local businesses, politicians and friends contributed to the more than $23,000 donated to six area charities.

The Medina County Historical Society received $3,875 for the Save Our Soldiers Civil War photo restoration project. The Medina County Community Fund was given $7,625, Medina Health Ministry and Oasis of Hope Pregnancy and Parenting Center were each given $2,000, while the Lodi Railroad Museum and Feeding Medina County each received $3,875.

In addition to the commissioners, the organizing committee included Lynda Bowers, Dianne DePasquale-Hagerty, Bill Heffelfinger, Tanya Martin, Cindee Tyree, Pam Vereb, Cathy Brown, Peggy Folk, Tom Hilberg, Sandi Sammon, Rhonda Wurgler, Dave Wadsworth and Mindy Wills.
