Londa L. (nee Schwartz Kovach) Lebanik, 67, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully Monday, January 6, 2014. She was born on September 5, 1946, to the late Edward John and Lorna June (nee Pietsch Schwartz) Schaefer in Cleveland.
Londa was a founding member of the Brunswick Garden Club, she and her husband Ron started the annual plant exchange at Neura Park, and was also actively involved in the knitting and crochet group that provided numerous items to Warm Up Medina County over the years. She and Ron were also active with Project LEARN in Brunswick, as tutors. Londa was recognized for her many civic duties as “Brunswick Sun’s Person of the Week” February 13, 2012.
Londa will be deeply missed by her mother, Lorna; sons, Steven Jr., and James Kovach; brothers, Jeff and Brad Schwartz; and step-sons, Brian, Christopher and Kevin Lebanik.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Ron Lebanik; her father, Edward John Schwartz; and by her late husband, Steve Kovach, Sr.
A private burial will be held at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery at a later date. No memorial service is planned at this time, as the family is waiting for the spring to plant flowers and a tree in her memory. Arrangements were handled by Waite and Son Funeral Home, Brunswick Chapel.
