Russell “Ted” Elliott

OBIT FLAGElliotRussellRussell “Ted” Elliott passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 after a long illness. He was born April 9, 1925 in Cleveland, to Russell T. Elliott, Sr. and Emma Dorsey Elliott.

He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Seabees. After a career as a salesman at Elliott Sales Service, Gallucci Chevrolet and Hebert Business Furniture in Ohio, he retired to Mount Dora, Florida in 1988. He was an Elder at First Christian Church in Medina and at Central Christian Church in Mount Dora, Florida. He was active in Rotary, serving the Mount Dora chapter as Secretary for 22 years and twice being named Rotarian of the Year.

Mr. Elliott is survived by daughters, Marcia (Howard) Brownstein of Naples, Florida and Portia Russell of Bakersfield, California, as well as by four grandchildren.

His beloved wife, Barbara Gibbs Elliott, passed away in 2013.

Services will be held in Medina at a later date.
