Edmund A. Crosby, 90, went peacefully into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father, with his family by his side, Friday, January 31, 2014, at his home in Harrisville Township. He was born October 30, 1923 in Lodi, to Everett F. and Ruth (Switzer) Crosby, and lived on his family farm most of his life.
Edmund enjoyed farming, fixing machinery, and his John Deere tractors. He also worked at Permold Company in Medina as a machinist and welder for 34 years. Edmund was a faithful member of The Homerville Grace Brethren Church for over 60 years and taught Sunday school for over 40 years.
He is survived by his faithful wife of 60 years, Donna (Kimmich) Crosby; children, Sarah Crosby, Everett (Lynn) Crosby, Stella (Jim) Elder; and three grandchildren, Matthew, David and Elizabeth Crosby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph; and sister, Martha (Crosby) Huvler.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014, 2 P.M., at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi (330-948-1122). Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi. The following pastors will officiate: Pastor Robert Holmes, who married Edmund and Donna 60 years ago, Pastor Bradley Kelley who has gone above and beyond the call of duty for our family during difficult times and Pastor Reid Firestone who is currently Edmund’s pastor. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2014, from 6 until 8 P.M., at the funeral home.
