Doris M. Mion (nee Steiner), 83, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Vanderbilt University Hospital, in Nashville, Tennessee. Doris was born in Cleveland to the late Fred and Anna (nee Jarus) Steiner. She lived in Medina for many years, prior to moving to Tennessee, in 2009.
Doris worked as a food service supervisor at several nursing homes. Doris was a member of St. Martin of Tours, Valley City, and was a seamstress. She enjoyed making all kinds of clothes, doll clothes, baby blankets, quilts, etc. Her life evolved around her children and grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Mion, Lorraine Mion, Toni (William) Swallow, Michael (Claudette) Mion, Regina Mion and Marie Mion; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Steiner; and a great-grandchild, Joey Bucci.
Funeral Mass is at 10 A.M., Saturday, February 8, 2014, at St. Martin of Tours Chapel, 1800 Station Road, Valley City, with Reverend Thomas Dunphy officiating. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday, February 7, 2014, at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City. Interment will be at St. Martin Church Cemetery, Valley City, at a later date.
