MEDINA — Medina County Drug Task Force agents Wednesday night arrested Nathan Murrell, 37, of Mansfield, on a child endangerment charge, a third-degree felony.
A 1-year-old infant was found in Medina home where the task force said there were 27 marijuana plants and 24 containers of psilocybin mushrooms. Agents and Medina police served a search warrant Wednesday night at a house in the 300 block of Abbeyville Road after a weeklong investigation by Medina police Detective Dan Warner, who is assigned to the drug task force.
Warner began his investigation after Medina police and the task force received complaints of possible drug trafficking at the house.
The marijuana plants were found in a tent-like grow room constructed in a bedroom, along with the mushrooms, which were in the early stages of growth. Numerous syringes, prescription medications and drug paraphernalia were found during the search as well, according to the task force.
Additional charges stemming from the cultivation and trafficking of marijuana and the cultivation of psilocybin mushrooms are pending against Murrell and other occupants of the house. Murrell was being held Thursday at the Medina County Jail pending an initial appearance today in Medina Municipal Court.
