WADSWORTH — The collective sigh of relief Wednesday came from Wadsworth.
According to coach Mike Schmeltzer Jr., All-Gazette center Kyle Prunty will play Friday against Highland after leaving Tuesday’s win at Tallmadge with a knee injury.
“It was scary for a second, I’ll tell you that,” Schmeltzer said.
Prunty went down on a failed dunk attempt with 5:06 left in the third quarter. Schmeltzer said Prunty was diagnosed with a sprain and sat out Wednesday’s practice as a precaution.
The 6-foot-6 senior enters Friday’s showdown against the league-leading Hornets (13-6, 9-3) averaging 15.4 points.
Wadsworth (12-6, 8-4) can move into a first-place tie with a victory and a Green (13-6, 9-3) loss at Tallmadge (11-7, 7-4).
