Glenn R. “Oxey” Oxenrider, 84, of Creston, died Friday, February 14, 2014, at Meadowview Care Center in Seville, following a period of declining health.OXendrider_Glenn

Glenn was born March 24, 1929 in Rittman, to the late Orlo and Rose (Troxel) Oxenrider and attended Rittman School. He married Mary Lou “Toots” Baird on July 31, 1948 and she survives. He retired from the Packaging Corporation of American in Rittman in 1991 and had operated Oxey Mower in Creston. Glenn enjoyed operating his small farm and raising his cows and chickens and was the happiest when on a tractor. He had made his home in Creston for the past 55 years.

Surviving are his wife “Toots”; son, Jack R. (Jessanne) Oxenrider of Peebles, Ohio; daughter, Judy Oxendrider of Creston; and three granddaughters, Marissa Oxenrider, Amanda Oxenrider and Kele Oxenrider.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Sid Oxenrider.

Services will be Monday at 11 A.M., at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with Pastor Tami Toothman-Shoup officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Monday.
