Man pleads guilty to raping girl 10+ years ago

MEDINA — A 50-year-old New Hampshire man was convicted Tuesday of repeatedly raping a young relative of his more than a decade ago while she was living in Medina County.

Timothy S. Zimmerer, of North Conway, pleaded guilty to 16 counts of rape as part of a plea deal. Prosecutors agreed to reduce the severity of nine charges in exchange for the plea.

Medina County Common Pleas Judge Christopher J. Collier scheduled Zimmerer for a March 31 sentencing hearing, where he faces up to 10 years in prison on each count. Under the original charges — which accused Zimmerer of forcibly raping a child under age 13 — he would have faced mandatory life in prison.

The victim, who’s now 25, reported to police that Zimmerer raped her several times between 1999 and 2002 — when she was between 10 and 14 years old.

As part of the plea deal, Zimmerer agreed to drop a motion to suppress evidence he filed in November, in which his attorney, Bob Campbell, argued his client’s interview with the FBI should be thrown out because an agent continued to question Zimmerer after he asked for an attorney.

Since this sick pig will probably die in prison (and rightfully so), can’t we have the option of putting him to death so we don’t have to pay for his room and board?

Better that he sit a long time in prison to think for a LONG time about how much he ruined the lives of this girl and at least a few others. God will be the final judge. It is just important to keep him locked up so there is no chance he can harm anyone else. Luckily, his victims are all survivors and won’t let this ruin their lives although it has changed who they are and it will be with them forever.

Maybe we should put you to death for thinking taking another mans life is acceptable, justice will be done and he has to live with the consequences hes brought upon himself.
