He taught German and English in the Parma school system and worked as a musician on weekends, performing in big bands and orchestras. Bob enjoyed playing his trumpet with the Jolly Jammers at the Medina Senior Center in the last few years. He served his country proudly during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he was a Staff Sergeant and Air Force Bombardier with the 94th Bomb Group.
He is survived by his step children, Linda Dietrich Barnes, Douglas (Paula) Criswell, Jacqueline (Kenneth) Czinke, Tom (Sheryl) Niemann, Chris Niemann and Mary (Jay) Vetomskie; step grandchildren, Carol, Heidi, Becky, Mark, Thomas, Timothy and Jordan; nieces and nephews, George, Linda, Bruce, Lou Ann, Robert, Marilynn, and Richard.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved companion, Jean Niemann; brother, George; sisters, June and Mary; and nieces, Rita and Marcia.
Private family services will be held.
