FerkoPaulOBIT FLAGPaul L. Ferko, 90, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 23, 2014. He was born February 15, 1924, to the late John and Susie (nee Gallow) in Central City, Pennsylvania.

Paul proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 7457 and American Legion Post 449 in Central City, Pennsylvania, as well as the New Baltimore Sportsmen’s Club. Paul worked for Reitz Coal Company for 14 years, Brecksville VA Hospital for 30 years and Bunker Hill for 20 plus years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 55 years, Veronica; loving children, Mary Taylor of Brunswick, Pauline (Michael) Kroeker of San Marcos, California and Jane Ferko of St. Louis, Missouri; treasured grandchildren, Philip Ferko, Tristan Janini, Angela (Nick) Mullen and Vincent Taylor; sister, Margaret Milavec; and many other loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, John, Ann, Michael, Andrew, Mary, George and Victor.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 26, 2014, from 3 until 7 P.M., at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014, 11 A.M., at St. Colette Catholic Church, 330 West 130th Street, Brunswick, with Father William Krizner as the Celebrant. Burial, with honors, will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at 1 P.M.
