Thomas J. Szuhy

Szuhy_ThomasThomas J. Szuhy, 73, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully Friday, March 7, 2014. He was born September 7, 1940 to the late John and Clara (nee Jursco) Szuhy in Cleveland.

Thomas worked as a butcher for 44 years, for Fisher-Fazio’s and Giant Eagle, including years as a supervisor and in management.

He was a charter member of the Brunswick Fraternal Order of Eagles Council #3505 and Knights of Columbus Brunswick Council #4847, serving as Grand Knight in 1976. He loved to go primitive camping where he was known as “Gray Knife”, hunting, fishing and bowling.

Thomas was the beloved husband of Donna for 50 years; loving father of Michael (Heather) Szuhy of Medina and Kathleen (Robert) Gdovin of Elyria; dear grandfather of Jacob and Nicholas; and brother of Donna L. Szuhy of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Joan Fleming.

A private celebration of Thomas’ life will be held at the funeral home and the family will have a special memorial for “Gray Knife” at Great Trails in Malvern, Ohio in August.
