WADSWORTH — Wadsworth Schools is in urgent need of three crossing guards in the coming month.

“The positions are open to anybody,” said Jami Wyrick, secretary of the district’s business office. “But usually people who are retired take the positions.”

She said crossing guards work 8:20 to 9:20 a.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. every day school is in session, and they make $8.75 per hour.

It’s a great job for retired people, she said. “It could keep them a little busy, and it will give them a little more supplemental income.”

Applicants must be able to watch traffic and have a good rapport with children, she said. To apply, call the business office at (330) 335-1369, or visit the district’s website at www.wadsworth.k12.oh.us and click on “Employment” under the “Quick Links” heading.

“If you love to work with kids and you want to help with the safety of our kids,” Wyrick said, “this is the perfect job for you.”
