OBIT FLAGPhillipsGaryGGary G. Phillips, 68, of Columbia Station, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014. He was born January 13, 1946, to the late John Franklin and Maggie (nee Hamilton) Phillips in Pritchard, West Virginia.

Gary proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from Ford Motor Co. after 34 years. He was a life time member of the Medina VFW Post 5137 and will be remembered for his love of motorcycles.

He will be missed by his beloved wife, Christine Phillips of 29 years; loving children, Justin (Capt. Elizabeth) Phillips of Biloxi, Mississippi and Dalton Phillips of Columbia Station; cherished grandson, Trenton; and siblings, Florene (Earl, deceased) Adkins of Middletown, Mary (Wade) Akers of Wadsworth, Betty (Ernest) Avis of Oak Hill, West Virginia, Timothy Phillips of Louisiana and Janie (Kenneth) Lapina of Brunswick Hills.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, James (Dolores) Phillips, Tom (Kathy) Phillips, Larry Phillips, William (Julia) Phillips and Anita Ferguson.

A graveside service will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Friday, March 21, 2014 at 11 A.M. Please meet at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick at 10 A.M.
