Tom graduated from Ohio Northern University and worked as a pharmacist in various drug stores throughout northeast Ohio. Tom married his wife, Joan in 1957, raising their family in the southwest Medina countryside, with a litany of horses, cats, dogs and other pets that would wander in. He had a passion for music, especially Sousa marches and played piano and trumpet in a hometown band. Other interests included horses, sail boating and computers. He enjoyed singing in the choir as an active member of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish and was a Secular Franciscan – truly appreciating fellowship with the group at St. Mary’s of the Falls.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Joan; cherished children, Dana (Ismario) Gonzalez and Dwayne (Lydia) Groll; grandchildren, Alex, Jose, Maria, and Matthew; cousin, Mark Cross, sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Basista and Lil (Jim) Jirousek; brothers-in-law, Darold (Irene) Basista, Joseph (Hazel) Basista and Jim (Jan) Basista and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Hortense; his wife’s parents, John and Theresa Basista; and brother-in-law, Ronald Basista.
