James “Jim” Ryan, 87, of Northfield, passed away peacefully Monday, March 17, 2014, with his family by his side. He was born March 12, 1927, to the late James Oliver and Jeannette (nee Green) Ryan in Salem, Kentucky.
Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a plant superintendent for Alcoa Aluminum, where he worked for 30 plus years. He was an avid outdoorsman and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, reading and boating. Jim was a long-time member of the Masonic Newburgh Lodge #379 F & AM.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Randy Klebowski; and son, James Ryan, Jr.; treasured grandchildren, Kyle (Emily), Jamie (fiance Cody) Ryan, Michael, James (Samantha) and Cassie (David) Dietrich; cherished great-grandchildren, Tyler, Rylynn and Jo Marie; and sister, Helen Riley.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ernestine; grandson, Ryan Klebowski; and son-in-law, Joseph Klebowski.
Family will receive friends Friday, March 21, 2014, from 4 until 8 P.M., at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick. Service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 10 A.M., in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Whitehaven Memorial Park in Mayfield Village, 615 Som Center Road.
