OBIT FLAGGruber_StephenStephen Paul Gruber, 84, entered into rest Monday, March 17, 2014. Stephen was born January 29, 1930 in Cleveland, to the late John and Elizabeth Gruber.

He honorably served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. After the war, Stephen graduated from Baldwin Wallace College and became a certified public accountant. He worked for CVS, Revco, and Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. Stephen enjoyed golfing, bowling, NASCAR, and model trains.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ellen (Frank) of 62 years; children, Barb (Chris) Schroeder, Marge (Philip) Ridenour, Deb (David) Rodriguez, and John Gruber; grandchildren, JC (Kelly) Schroeder, Shelly (Shane) Johnson, Jen (Drew) Deserto, Michael (Lisa) Rodriguez, Molly (Jim) Ludwig, Matthew and Maggie Rodriguez, and Rachel, Faith (Jesse) Soria, David, and Stephen Gruber; great-grandchildren, Micah, Noah, Josiah, Isaiah, and Leah Johnson, and Annalise and Anthony Deserto, and Matthew Schroeder.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 24, 2014, 11 A.M., at St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina. Friends may call Sunday, March 23, 2014, from 3 until 6 P.M., at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Burial, with military honors, will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 2 P.M. (Please meet at Waite and Son Funeral Home by 1:15 P.M.)
