Boyd “Pete” Grumbling

Boyd “Pete” Grumbling, 79, of Hinckley, died Monday, March 17, 2014. He was born on June 25, 1934, the seventh of eight children to the late Robert and Nettie (nee Lohman) Grumbling in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania.

Pete moved with his family from Pennsylvania to North Royalton after World War II. He graduated from North Royalton High School in 1952, and went on to receive two Bachelor’s degrees from Ohio University, and a Master’s degree from Bowling Green State University. Pete was a long time teacher at North Royalton High School where he taught math and was the Mathematics Department Head. While teaching at North Royalton Pete met a fellow teacher who became his wife of 50 years. Family was always the most important thing to Pete and he especially loved his grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Mary Ann (nee Hintz); loving children, Gary (MaryAnn Martin) and Glen (Lisa) Grumbling; six grandchildren, Peter, Grace, Georgia, Julia, Clare and Ila; brothers, Edwin and John (Marge) Grumbling.

Pete is preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, Robert “Bud”, Betty, Rachel, and Ray.

Private family services have been held. Waite and Son Funeral Home, Brunswick Chapel, handled the arrangements.
