Alan G. White

OBIT FLAGAlan G. White, 86, of Lodi, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at his home following a period of declining heath. He was born December 27, 1927 in Warren, Ohio to Neal and Helen (Feazel) White.

He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1945 and entered the U.S. Army Air Force shortly thereafter. Following his discharge from the Army he enrolled at San Francisco State College, where he graduated with his Master’s Degree in Education. He taught Industrial Arts, History and Math at Bancroft Junior High School in San Leandro, California before retiring and moving to Lodi in 1985. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in California and later in Wooster, where he served as a church Elder. He was also a member of the Harrisville Masonic Lodge #137 F&AM in Lodi.

Surviving his wife, Betty (nee Williams), who he married December 19, 1953 in San Francisco; three daughters, Susan White of San Leandro, California, Anne (Michael) Cuddy of Pleasanton, California, Karen (David) Smart of Carmel, Indiana; one son, Allen (Michele) White of Castro Valley, California; seven grandchildren, Josh, Wesley and Ashley White of Castro Valley, California, Paul (Erica) Johnson of Texas, Erin Johnson of Castro Valley, Allison (Jeff) Peyton of Westfield, Indiana, Brandon Smart of Indianapolis; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Jacob “Chip” Peyton; brother, Neal William (Patricia) White of Creston; nieces and nephews in Ohio and California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Jane Estupinian.

A Private Family Funeral Service will be held at Parker & Son Funeral Home in Lodi. Rev. Bob Meyer will officiate. Burial will follow at Congress Cemetery.
