James T Marsh, 85, of Medina, passed away peacefully Friday, March 21, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cleveland and was a Medina County resident for over 65 years.
Jim retired from Ohio Bell with over 36 years of dedicated service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a certified arborist and an avid outdoorsman with many interests, including fishing, hunting, gardening, beekeeping and his tractors.
Having grown up during the depression, he learned to persevere through many challenges and overcome adversity numerous times throughout his life. Jim loved spending time with his family, as they were a very important part of his life and he was proud of the many accomplishments of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Joan, (nee Schmahl) his loving wife of 57 years; and his infant daughter, Sheri.
Jim will be deeply missed by his children, James (Glesna), Kathy Sicz, Gail (Mike) Southwell, Scott, and Vicki; treasured grandchildren, Kevin Marsh, Kimberly Patton, Nathan Southwell; and great-granddaughters, Kacey, Skyler, and Kaitlynn Patton.
Private family service will take place Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the Chapel at Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinckley. Waite and Son Funeral Home, Brunswick, is handling arrangements.
