Drivers not seriously hurt, Center Road shut down Saturday

BRUNSWICK — Three people escaped serious injury in a Saturday morning rear-end collision that shut down Center Road for more than two hours.

Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper Daniel Kumor said Richard Holy, 63, of North Royalton, was driving a Chevy Trailblazer east on Center Road when the crash happened at about 9:30 a.m.

Holy’s vehicle struck a Mercedes-Benz SUV driven by Colleen Thomas, 23, of Liverpool Township, and flipped over several times, coming to rest upside down, Kumor said.

Thomas’s vehicle was pushed off the right side of the road where it struck a Hyundai driven by Timothy Mickulec, 52, of Brunswick, who was stopped at the red light on Maxwell Boulevard.

Thomas was taken Southwest General Hospital and Holy was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland for treatment of a head injury. Kumor said he believes both drivers have been released.

Mickulec did not need medical attention.

Kumor said the reason Center Road was shut down so long was because of the amount of debris.

The crash remains under investigation.
