According to Montville police, Frank A. Salerno Jr., was uninjured when the culvert on his driveway in the 6600 block of River Styx Road collapsed around 7:20 p.m. Thursday.

Police Sgt. Matt Neil said the rushing water from what is normally a small stream compromised the integrity of the culvert and when the weight of the car drove over the culvert it collapsed. The car sustained body and water damage and had to be removed by a towing company.

Neil said no other major damage was reported in the township because of the rainstorms.
