The latest information about intellectual property — patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets — is available in the Ohio State Bar Association’s free online book.
Patricia Walker and Ralph Jocke, of the Medina law firm of Walker & Jocke Co., co-authored the chapter on intellectual property, which is included in the updated edition of the book, “Legal Basics for Small Business.”
“Intellectual property is something every business needs to worry about,” Walker said. “The old concept of intellectual property has had to be expanded to cover the new concepts such as the Internet and Facebook.”
Walker said the updated book is designed for small business owners in Ohio who are looking for basic legal information.
“The biggest importance of intellectual property is to be able to protect your market,” she said. “You can stop other people from copying what you have and in that way protect your market in the United States.
“Legal Basics for Small Business” is available as an e-book, in ePub and Mobi formats, and as a Adobe Acrobat “pdf” file.
