OBIT FLAGRapenchukEthelGeorge Rapenchuk, 93, of Medina, entered into rest Friday, January 3, 2014. George was born March 2, 1920 to the late Adam and Celia Rapenchuk in Cleveland.

George honorably served his country during WWII as Corporal in the Army Air Force. He retired from the Free Oil Co. in 1985. After retirement, George found employment at Tiger General and worked there for 27 years, until the age of 92. He was the first man at work and the last man to leave. He did things the right way and his values were second to none. George was a lifetime member of the Medina Eagles and the Moose Lodge, where he served as past Governor. He enjoyed playing Bingo and shooting pool.

He is survived by his son, Greg R. Rapenchuk; stepsons, Ray (Barbara), Bruce, and Dale Edinger and Charles (Peggie) Brown; stepdaughter, Barbara Bates; grandchildren, Ben Powell, Marcus, Patrick, Harmony, and Wyatt Edinger, Amanda Ford, and Dustin Yeary; and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Eastin, Aliah and Raelynn Edinger.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ethel (Lovett) of 30 years; his former wife, Billie Rapenchuk,; daughter, Denise Powell; and his stepsons, Jim and Tony Edinger.

Graveside services, with military honors, will be held 2:30 P.M., Friday, April 18, 2014, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Rittman. Kindly meet the family at the welcome center.
