Marian C. Macklin, 84, of Medina, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014. She was born October 24, 1929 in Columbus Grove, Ohio, to the late Charles and Estelle Fruchey. She has been a longtime resident of Medina County.
She was a former member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Valley City. Marian had worked at the General Motors tank plant in Cleveland, prior to taking her position with the State Auditor’s office, working out of the Akron/Canton region for many years.
Marian enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States and camping with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her warmth and sharp sense of humor.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, James R. Macklin, with whom she just celebrated 64 years of marriage on March 25, 2014. Sharing in Jim’s sorrow are children, Joyce (Jack) Ringstmeier of Valley City, John (Linda) of Delaware, Ohio, Jeff (Kathy) of Mallet Creek and James (Amanda) of Mallet Creek; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bill) Schneider, Janice (Brian) Kollar, Jaclyn Ringstmeier, Amy (Kyle) Long, Anthony (Erin) Macklin, Kyle (Lisa) Macklin, Kelly (Josh) Flagner and Jamison Macklin; six great grandchildren and one special bundle due in September; sister, Jeanette (Gene) Ruppert of Michigan; and also her extended family and Florida friends.
Graveside Service will be 11 A.M., Thursday, April 17, 2014 at York Township Cemetery, Mallet Creek. Rev. Bert Ambrose, officiating. Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City.
The family suggests memorials if desired may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
