OBIT FLAGKathalene Jackson, 68, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Kathalene was born June 17, 1945, in Hazlehurst, Georgia, to the late Ira Thomas and Edith Nelson.Jackson_Kathalene

She proudly served in the U.S. Army Corps and was a lifetime member of the Wadsworth American Legion Post #170, former president of the American Legion Womens Auxiliary, and served on the executive board of the American Legion. Kathalene was a deli clerk at Stop-n-Go and loved her job very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Jackson, Sr,; son, Stanley Jackson; and brother, Ledward Thomas.

Kathalene is survived by children, Michelle Jackson Limas (Robert), Melanie Richards (Scott) and Stefanie Jackson; grandchildren, Jennifer, Robby, Crystal, Jayse, Ashleigh, Megan, Helaina and Alex; sisters, Loree Carter (Herman), Sue White (Charles), Faye Stein (Bill), Joyce White (Rob), and brother, J.R. Thomas (Libby). Plus many nieces and nephews that loved her very much.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 21, 2014 from 5 to 8 P.M., at The Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where funeral services will be conducted 11 A.M., Tuesday, April 22, 2014, with Pastor David Wallover officiating. Interment will be at Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to The Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
