Mary Elizabeth Brooker, 84, of Marshallville, died peacefully Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at West View Healthy Living in Wooster, following a 10 year battle with Alzheimer’s. Mary was born November 15, 1929 in Marshallville, to the late Lester and Martha (Berger) Beery.
She was a 1948 graduate of Dalton High School. On May 6, 1950 she married Robert Brooker who preceded her in death on July 6, 2000. She had been a cook at the school in Smithville for 14 years and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Marshallville, where she sang in the Choir and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She had been a member of the Orville Seniors and enjoyed playing cards and music. She was a devoted wife and mother who always loved cooking, baking, canning and caring for her family.
Surviving are her four children and their spouses, Nancy Brooker and Gary Coffing of Wooster, Lynn and Michael Reynolds of Creston, Michael and Joan Brooker of Medina and Bob and Jenny Brooker of Marshallville; four grandchildren, Mark and his wife Cami Reynolds and Lindsay, Jordan and Ian Brooker; two great-grandsons, Colton and Easton Reynolds; sister and brother-in-law, Colleen and Clarence Weaver of Orrville; sister-in-law, Betty Beery of Orrville; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, a brother, Vernon Beery and sisters, Helen Ault and Faith Snyder died previously.
Services will be Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11 A.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Marshallville with Rev. Joyce Williams officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Marshallville. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the Church.
