Helma Louise Carpenter, 90, of Parma, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014. Louise, as she is known by her family and friends, was born August 27, 1923 in Diana, West Virginia, to Oakey and Rowena (Fisher) Townsend. She spent her childhood and early adulthood in Diana.
Louise had been a factory worker, homemaker and enjoyed sewing.
She is survived by her sons, Willard James Carpenter of Litchfield, Philip and Kathy (Duplaga) Carpenter of Lodi; daughter, Patricia Carpenter of Parma; nine grandchildren;
23 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Zane (Sonny) and Sally Townsend of Oak Hill, Florida; sister-in-law, Jean Townsend of Merritt Island, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Millard Carpenter; son, Fredrick Lynn Carpenter; daughters-in-law, Lori (Hanshue) Carpenter and Karen (Zirkle) Carpenter; brother, Lorn Townsend; 18 step-brothers and step-sisters.
A Graveside Memorial will be held this summer in Craigsville, West Virginia.
