Fairlawn man seriously injured in dirt bike accident

GRANGER TWP. — A dirt bike crash Thursday evening sent a 55-year-old Fairlawn man to a hospital with serious injuries.

Troopers with the Medina post of the Ohio Highway Patrol reported Timothy Gamauf was riding a Kawasaki dirt bike south down Tara Way when he lost control, overturned the bike and veered off the right side of the road.

Troopers reported Gamauf, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained serious injuries and was transported via helicopter to Akron General Hospital.

The Granger Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.

A hospital spokesman said Gamauf was in serious condition Friday.

The crash is under investigation, but drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash, according to the patrol.
