MEDINA — The railroad crossing on South State Road between West Liberty Street and West Smith Road in Medina is getting a much-needed facelift.
This portion of South State Road will be closed for about two weeks. A team of workers started to repair the crossing Monday.
City Engineer Patrick Patton said the crossing was repaired last in 1999.
The crossing was infamous for being one of the bumpiest in Medina.
“We have had a lot of complaints in the last year or two about the crossing,” Patton said.
In other closings:
• Baxter Street just north of Lafayette Road will be closed Tuesday for repairs to a water main.
• A section of Erhart Road in York Township will be closed Monday through May 16 in order to resurface the CXS railroad crossing where Erhart Road intersects Elyria Road.
