Rosemary McCafferty Olson, 77, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in Cleveland. She was born December 1, 1936 in Madison, Wisconsin, where she resided until 1958 when she graduated from The University of Wisconsin and married Earle Olson.
The Olsons have been residents of Medina since 1971. Teaching junior high school in Medina was a very rewarding experience for her. Rosemary was a member of the United Church of Christ and The Afternoon Club. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, tennis, golf, cooking and entertaining. People were a special joy to her and she has always been surrounded with loving friends and relatives. Making a difference in the lives of others was a driving force in Rosemary’s life. Her guiding force was her belief in Faith, Family and Friends.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Earle; her children, Eric Olson (Carla) of Kent and Christina (Anthony) Armeni of Medina; her sister, Karen Zimny of Wisconsin; and her numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Steele of Wisconsin; and her parents, Samuel and Doris McCafferty.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the United Church of Christ, Congregational, 217 E. Liberty St., Medina, with the Reverend Dr. Neil Sadler officiating. Family will receive friends from 9 until 11 A.M. Services will be held at 11 A.M., with a luncheon to follow.
