• Smith Road, between Lake Road and Commerce Drive in Medina, will be closed for a week starting Monday to repair the railroad crossing there.

Motorists are advised to find different routes around the crossing.

Local access for all businesses within the closure limits will be maintained during the closing period but no traffic will be permitted to cross at the work area.

City officials said that CSX was in town to fix the crossing on South State Road between West Liberty Street and West Smith Road and the company wanted to repair the Smith Road crossing while workers were here.

The crossing on South State Road is expected to be open next week.

CSX was given the go-ahead during last Monday’s Finance Committee meeting where the resolution passed with an emergency clause.

• Plum Creek Park in Brunswick Hills Township reopened to the public Friday. It had been closed since storms on Monday night washed out trails and caused damage.

• The city of Brunswick will resume branch chipping starting on Tuesday. Chipping will be done in neighborhoods according to the trash pick-up date.
