Born in Cleveland on June 21, 1923, to Joseph and Catherine (Koula) Linek, Glenn moved with his family to Medina, where he enjoyed farm living, until proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, Pacific Theater. Working for many tool & die shops throughout his career, he rightfully earned the title of “grinder extraordinaire”. A talented amateur musician, he liked reading, woodworking and was above all, a wonderful grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Emma (Stadler) Linek; his loving children, Stephan (Teresa) Linek; and daughter, Chris Montana; dear grandchildren, Karl (Tracy) Linek, Stephanie (Darin) Kehmeier and Charlene (Steve) Schultz; seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy A. Linek; his brothers, Norman and Ralph Linek; and his sisters, Blanche Smith and Gladys Linek.
Funeral service will be 11 A.M., Monday, May 19, 2014 at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, with interment to follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
