Don R. “Butch” Shilling, 76, of Burbank, died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Smithville-Western Care Center, following a period of declining health. Don was born December 16, 1937 in Lodi, to the late Ralph Richey and Treva Delmina (Dull) Shilling.
He was a 1956 graduate of Norwayne High School and had operated a lawn mower shop at his home, had worked at the Trinity Church in Burbank and had been the caretaker for the Burbank Cemetery for 20 years. He had made his home in Burbank all of his life and enjoyed attending the Litchfield Flea Market as well as having an ongoing garage sale at his home.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Sigler of Creston; nephew, Randy Sigler of Smithville; and nieces, Cheryl Sigler of Millersburg and Susy Sigler of Wooster.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Donna Shilling; and his wife, Sarah Louise (Hawkins) Shilling, who died November 21, 2009.
Services will be Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 2 P.M. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with Pastor Deborah Quillen officiating. Burial will be in Burbank Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
