Medina lacrosse heading back to state


MEDINA — The Medina girls lacrosse team will make its sixth straight appearance in the Ohio Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association state semfinals.

The Bees took care of business Thursday with a 7-4 win over Dublin Coffman in the North/Central Division I Regional final. Medina advanced to face Olentangy or Massillon Jackson on May 30.

Ashley Bernardi led Medina (16-2) with two goals and an assist, while Mackenzie Hitchcock added a goal and two assists and Cassie Hudson-Heck tallied two goals.

Mikaela Faus had eight saves and Hailey Kaylor made one.

Coffman fell to 14-4.
