MEDINA — A crew worked most of Monday on a water main break in the 400 block of Woodlawn Drive.
City Service Director Nino Piccoli said the first call about the break came in around 6:30 a.m. and by 7:30., a crew of four was working to repair the line.
Water service wasn’t expected to be disrupted, although a few residents may be asked to boil water as a precaution.
Affected homeowners would be notified with a note on their doors, Piccoli said.
Piccoli said the break was in an 8-inch line and it was repaired by early afternoon. In the course of making repairs, however, a valve used to shut down the line broke.
“That sometimes happens with older infrastructure,” he said. “We run into it every once in a while.”
Piccoli said the crew was working to excavate the broken valve and replace it Monday afternoon and hoped to finish by day’s end.
He thanked the workers’ for their quick response on the Memorial Day holiday.
