OBIT FLAGLonsChalesCharles Lons, Jr., 82, of Medina, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014. He was born October 23, 1931 in Youngstown, to the late Charles Lons, Sr. and Anna (nee Nanowski) Lons.

Charles served in the United States Army and spent the great majority of his life working as a dairy farmer. He was an active member of Medina First Baptist Church, Gideon’s International, Future Farmers of America and he was the proud recipient an American Farmer’s Award at a young age.

Charles is survived by his dear wife, Marguerite (nee Armentrout), with whom he cherished 19 months of marriage; his loved daughters, Ann J. (Terrence, Sr.) Gasser and Linda L. (David) Stallard; and adored grandchildren, Eric (Samantha) Gasser, Derek, Rachel and Devin Stallard; nephew, Raymond (Arlis) Pierce and Lorie (Jean) Cooper; great-nephew, James (Colleen) Cooper; step-children, Tommy (Janet) Knight, Jr., Russel (Liza) Knight, Joyce (John) Daugherty, Joseph Grogan and John (Cathy) Grogan; as well as numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, June (nee Tomasch); son, Charles D. Lons, III; and grandson, Terrence Gasser, Jr.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11 A.M. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 P.M., Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in the funeral home.
