Margaret Rose Handy, 76, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014, after a lengthy illness. She was born March 8, 1938 in Carrothers, Ohio, to the late Alfred and Ruth Alexander. She spent most of her childhood in Marion, and lived her remaining years in Medina.
Margaret graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1957 and later worked as a home health nurse for several years. Strong in her faith, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sandusky, as well as the Lakeview Baptist Church in Vermilion. She was the loving wife to Joseph Breckinridge Handy lll for over 30 years
Margaret was always very kind, sweet, and compassionate. She wasn’t afraid to strike up a conversation with anyone, and loved to be silly and laugh. She adored her grandchildren and four-legged friends, including her cats and dog, Poppy. Margaret was also known for her love of the color red, roses, and chocolate of any kind.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; son, Kenneth Keller; stepson, Bruce Handy; and siblings, Maxine Hubble, Charlene Gilbert, and Clifford Alexander.
She is survived by her children, Joseph (Mark Crosby) B. Handy lV, Charles (Tracie) Handy, David Handy, Elaine (Kevin) Criss, Shana Emerine, Scott Wormell, Chris (Jamie) Handy, and James (Jaime) Handy; sister, June Mitchell; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; her good friend, Pete; and her dog, Poppy.

Margaret will be placed next to her husband Joseph at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
