Preceding Ed in death are his sister, Josephine Ritchie, and brothers Charles, Roy, and Harry.
Ed served his nation during World War II in the European Theatre. He married Erna Lauerhahs on June 14, 1947 in Cleveland. Ed worked at Lake Erie Screw Corporation until his retirement and also worked his family farm with the help of his family, neighbors, and friends. Ed took great pride in his vegetable and flower gardens and in mowing his lawn. He enjoyed beekeeping and fixing whatever needed fixing, with his MacGyver ingenuity.
Ed thought family was the most important thing. His home was always open on Sundays for gatherings of friends and family. He loved his grandkids and patiently taught them many things, such as how to mow a lawn, how to fix a bike tire, and how to fish. Family weddings are where he showed his love for music and his dancing skills. He enthusiastically danced every polka.
Edward is survived by his wife of 67 years, Erna; children, Dianna (George) Csikos, Dennis (Shirley) Mastney, Carol Wagner and Karen (Kevin) Fobbs; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
