PHOTOS: Ray Mellert Park splash pad opens, attracts children, families

The splash pad at Medina’s Ray Mellert Park was expected to be built in 2012, but the project was delayed because of the first two bids came in too high. Last year, the unusually wet weather delayed completion of the splash pad until October. Mayor Dennis Hanwell and Ward 1 Councilman Brian Hilberg hosted a picnic Thursday to celebrate the opening.
