Dale C. Emmons, 85, of Medina, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Medina Hospital. He was born December 1, 1928, in Manistee, Michigan to Louis and Neva North Emmons. His family moved to Lafayette and he later graduated from Lodi High School in 1947.
He entered the U.S. Army in December of 1950 and served in Korea. He married Lenore Tomes on May 7, 1952 at the Lafayette Methodist Church.
Dale was employed by the Ford Motor Company in Brookpark for 38 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Lafayette United Methodist Church, life member of the Medina VFW Post #5137, and member of the Medina Coon Hunters Association.
He is survived by his wife, Lenore; daughters, Gayle (Martin) Dobrilovic of Lake Worth, Florida, Becky (Jim) Brown of Zephyr Hills, Florida; son, Gary (Lynn) Emmons of Seville; three granddaughters, Erin (Walter) Givens, Rachel Dobrilovic, Holly (Patrick) Miltner, Karla (Matt) Whalen; great-grandson, Canyon James Givens; sister, Joyce (Bob) Davis of Lodi; brothers, Neal (Ruth) Emmons of Norwood, Georgia and Gordon (Cheryl) Emmons of Lakeland, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Shirley Joy in 1957; and brother, Max Emmons nine days ago.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 11 A.M., at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi (330-948-1122). Pastor Brian Amstutz will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi. In keeping with Dale’s wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation.
