Mary Louise Lencyk Noren, beloved mother and grandmother, entered peacefully into eternity Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Elmcroft of Medina, surrounded by loved ones. Mary was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, on December 15, 1919, a daughter of Anna and Matthew Lencyk.
The family moved to Campbell, Ohio when she was a child. She attended Penhale grade school, where she excelled in baseball. She graduated in 1938 from Campbell Memorial High School. Mary was a sports enthusiast and an avid bowler.
Mary lived in Campbell until 1985, when she moved to Struthers Manor, where she served as president of the Manor for many years. Eventually, she was assisted there by her niece, Linda Lencyk Dietz. In 2008, she moved to Medina, to be closer to family.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Albert, who died in 1961; her brothers, Michael, Peter, and George; and sisters, Katherine and Josephine.
She is survived by her three children, Mary Ann (Roger) McManus of Westfield Center, Dennis (Kim) Noren of Largo, Florida, Judy Noren of West Palm Beach, Florida; her brother, John Lencyk of Campbell. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A private, graveside service will be held at a later date at St. John’s Cemetery in Lowellville, Ohio.
The family wishes to thank, with all their hearts, Hospice of Medina County, who offered immediate gentle care to their mother and grandmother and comfort to the family. Gifts to Hospice of Medina County would be greatly appreciated so that this wonderful work can continue for others.
