Cathy Thompson, 53, of Sterling, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Akron City Hospital. She was an Angel on Earth that will be missed deeply by her family and friends. She was born October 6, 1960 in Wadsworth to Bud and Eloise (Campbell) Meager and lived most of her life in the Rittman/Sterling area.
Cathy attended Cloverleaf High School with the class of 1980 and married the love of her life, Tony Thompson, on August 25, 1984. They have been happily married for 30 years. Cathy was the co-owner of Thompson Services and worked by Tony’s side every day.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She attended the Eastern Road Church of God and Faith Family Church. She loved and blessed everyone that knew her and her beautiful smile can never be replaced.
Surviving is her husband, Tony; son, Shawn Thompson of Wooster; daughter, Dawn (David) Hutchison of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren, Miah, Davey and Delaney; mother, Eloise Meager of Creston; loving mother-in-law, Rose Thompson, Lora, Aaron and Joy; brothers, Karl (Evette) Meager of Westfield, Carl (Velvet) Meager of Chippewa Lake, Butch (Janet) Meager of Seville, Gary (Suzanne) Meager of Seville, Alan (Eileen) Meager of Seville, Glen (Shirley) Meager of Tennessee and Steve (Corinth) Meager of Columbus; and dear friends, Jerry and Opal Winkler, Whitey and Terrie Casenhiser, Clem and Julie McKinney, Jim and Kim Lowe and Sherre Larson.
She was preceded in death by her father; and brother, Terry Meager.
Friends may call from 3 P.M. until the time of services at 6 P.M. at the Eastern Road Church of God, 2600 Eastern Rd., Rittman, Monday, June 30, 2014 at 6 P.M., with Pastor Faron Cole and Reverend Jeff Ball officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 11 A.M.
Auble-Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman is assisting the family with arrangements.
