Joseph and Joanne Wanko, of Seville, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. Pastor Glen Bishop married the couple in the Lutheran parsonage in Wadsworth on July 3, 1954.
Joanne is a homemaker. She put her sewing talents to work when her children were in high school, creating uniforms for field commanders, flag team, drill team, show choir and more! Joanne enjoys crocheting and playing cards, especially Euchre and Bridge.
After 43 years as a Foreman, Joe retired from General Clay Products. He coached ponytail softball and little league. He enjoys Ohio State football and basketball, the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Joe plays cards with the Euchre Club.
The couple enjoys visiting with friends and family. They have
five children, Cynthia Lance of Lodi, Cheryl Adam (Matthew) of
Kansas City, Missouri, Jeffrey Wanko (Molly) of Oxford, Ohio,
Caryn Kanel (Jeffrey) of Upper Arlington, Ohio and Christine
Henderson (Jeffrey) of Farmington, Minnesota; as well as 11
adoring grandchildren, Joe Lance, Jeff Lance, Aaron Wanko,
Isaac Wanko, Naomi Wanko, Nickolas Kanel, Noah Kanel, Ben
Kanel, Allie Kanel, Jacob Henderson and Maya Henderson.
